Synchronization instructions:

- Synchronization is a feature that keeps a movie in sync between two devices. To enable sync, first set up the IP of the device you wish to sync with in Settings/General, where you can also find the IP of your own device. Do this on both phones so they have each others IP configured.

- Select a video to play. If it's a local video it must be present on both devices.

- In the VR UI, click the "sync" button on both devices to enable synchronization.

- On one of the devices, start the video by pressing the play button. After a small delay, the movie will start playing synchronized on both devices.

Seeking and network play is supported!

Feature suggestions and bug reports are always welcome!

Permission usage:

NFC, WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE : Used by the Cardboard SDK to set up and save your headset configuration.

ACCESS_WIFI_STATE: Used for finding the IP of your device and displaying it in the Sync settings, to help set up synchronized play with another device.

INTERNET, READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Required for accessing media on the device and for streaming.

Player that gives the best quality video. But i have the issue of video drifting away from the centre of the screen. Are there any specific setting or solution for this? It interrupts my experience while watching videos

Rick N

It's the best I have found. Works with remote!

I'm using this to primarily watch 2d movies in 3d. This player works great with my Nexus 6. I really like the wireless controller integration, the customization controls and the interface with the controls available while watching the movie are great. I would really like to see a file browser integrated into the theater. PS. .I love the way you can re-center the screen to wherever you want.

I wrote an article about VR video players and marked it as probably the best. I still think it except it works only for 30 minutes then starts lagging. I thought it happened because vr environment was too resource intensive and my phone became too hot, but the same happened when I turned the environment off. I could test it because you fixed the cursor issue in this mode so thanks for that. This is a really fantastic app and I would give you 5 stars if I could finish a video without stopping it and using another player which was perfect more times during whole videos. However you are better at displaying subtitles. (Sony Xperia Z2a, Android 5.1.1, VRTV 2.6.3)

Love it! Rich UI in VR, settings for screen-to-lens & interocular distance (for different HMDs), remembers settings for each video. New features added regularly. Just figured out how to use the new calibration feature and that finally took care of the drift. Highly recommended!

To start off, i've tried EVERY full version vr video player i could find, and i find myself switching between them for different videos/formats. Specifically stereoscopic 180-360 degree videos, as each video seemed to play best on a different player than the last. That ended with this most recent update. EVERY video i throw at vrtv now, looks absolutely PERFECT, extremely fast head tracking with googles sdk, and minimal to zero distortion on everything (assuming you pick the right options) and accurate scale. I can finally delete almost all the other vr players i have thanks to this update. FOR CHAI SOFTWARE: the only thing that i could possibly ask for at this point, is the ability to actively rotate/orient 180 degree videos with the analogue sticks of a controller. (i dont foresee this happening anytime soon, but i can dream)

Absolutely the best among vr viewers. works on even the worst cardboard clone. has individual controls for fine-tuning your lenses/headset, lan and sync support for two people watching a movie at the same time, supports all vr modes plus conventional 2d, tweaks for big/small screens, renderer options, alternatives for the drift problem. The big plus: dev is very quick to respond. really worth the money.

A must for anyone with cardboard

I was looking for a cinema app simular to occulus cinema for the rift/gear vr. After nearly giving up i downloaded this app and was pleasantly surprised at how great it was, exactly what i needed, upgraded from the free version almost immediately, very functional and polished.

Sabih Erdemanar

Liked it really much. many settings nearly not possible , wont fit to your device and cardboard. I had a noname cardboard, %50 of applications didnt fit , but with settings, it works very well. sync with another device is also a good feature, it was what i was looking exactly. i dont want my girlfriend to be alone when i enjoy this. it really feels like we went to cinema together. only thing there is a dragging effect. need to recalibrate the cinamescreen in the application every 5 minutes. but still good, didnt hesistate to buy the pro version

A cut above the rest

The virtual reality parts of the app really shine. It has a variety of viewing modes, from sitting in a virtual theater to full surround 3D video. The only area where the app needs work, in my opinion, is the file browser. It's nice to have the flexibility to browse the full file structure of the device, but the browser is a bit on the ugly side. It could do with some thumbnails. Try the demo first, if you're unsure.

Best vr player. Still needs work

Great app. Worth the money. Best Ive tried. Only bug so far is the focus consistently drifts even when you don't move so you have to keep centering. I use the lock feature but then the controls eventually drift in front of the screen. Please fix.

Ben Lew

Best VR player so far

Pretty close to perfect for my needs. Keyboard controls work great though a few things aren't quite there yet. Would like to be able to map own keys, embedded subtitle support for mkvs, more codecs (some videos have no audio playback), remembering screen settings (size, screen lock) and being able to browse and select videos without taking headset off (SBS menu). Worth the money!

Chris Cohen

Works and does it with style

Best Google Cardboard standard video player. A lot of options and loads of updates

MarkLindsay Fernandes

Really good needs work

I still prefer VR Player over this in regards to customizing movie viewing ,but having controls is a major upgrade. I also have issues watching for more than a minute. It starts freezing even with lower quality videos. Also i stream from my home network. Using a Galaxy S4

Anson Cording

Best one of the lot

Easy to navigate around with the option to remove the theatre which none of the other apps appear to do. No problems enlarging the size of the virtual screen and it's great for 2D SBS viewing too - ticks every box - I thoroughly recommend this app.

Areon Ash

Great player

Very good audio and video quality . The drifting almost gone after the update. I wish there was an option which we could increase the screen's curve to have a higher immersion. I also noticed when there is a fast pace \ action scene in the film or when I move my head there is a frame drop or shadowing. Also the 360/180 interface is very close to the top of the screen and easily triggered because it is exactly in the top center and you tend to hold your head on the center more rather than the sides.

Could be perfect...

Love this player, pity it doesn't seem to like full episodes on my nexus 5, stops and starts from the beginning after about 15 minutes, am I doing something wrong?

Vishnudev K

Good one. But still room for improvement

Yasser M

.mkv(DTS) videos without Sound!!

Bret L

The developer helped me with getting my shared files playing from my desktop to my smartphone. Very helpful, nice guy. I prefer this over SBS player because of the media controls.

Lord Childe

Just next or previous... no file list.
