Forced Progression

If you have fond memories of that Russian piano teacher who used to rap your knuckles with a stick, and holler "Again!" every time you made a mistake, this app may be for you. If you already know some concepts, and just want to work on new ones, maybe not so much. This app has a pretty interface, and the theory articles are nice, but it forces you to go through everything from square one, which only benefits newbies, which I am not, so I'm using a different app instead.

Great app!

Love the design, and the piano sounds are really nice. I have an issue though, in the chapter selection screen, the touchscreen responds in a weird way (for example, when scrolling in the middle of the screen, the notifications drawer comes down, as if I was swiping from the top of the screen) My solution is to swipe in "small bursts", but It'd be great if it could be addressed (i'm using my nexus 7 (2nd gen) with lollipop). I have a suggestion, as well. Is there an email address to write to? Thanks!

julieth almendarez

It doesn't sound :(

I just install it, and I was waiting the piano sound for the intervals, and I went to the settings and it was already ready. It doesn't work without sound.

Bad Temperament!

1. I'm surprised nobody mentioned it yet but the temperament is disturbing! I often hear high-pitched beats/ringing which is how piano tuners determine if notes are out of tune. It's fun to learn with games but what exactly are you training with a badly out-of-tune piano?! I've never heard any good digital tuning. Now go back to a well-tuned piano! --- 2. Why (C, G, E) doesn't make a root position C major chord? --- 3. Good program and good idea nonetheless.

I can't believe I am making progress

It seemed impossible at first to figure out which interval was a perfect fifth and which one a perfect fourth only by hearing them. However, after sticking with this app for a few days, I made it to 5 stars! My thoughts can even remind me what a P5 and a P4 sound like. I couldn't believe before that this was an acquired skill! It's amazing, all it takes is practice and this app is great at encouraging you. Thank you!

Robert Clowes

If you want a program to test your already excellent relative pitch skills this may be it. If what you want is nicely graded exercises to improve you abilities to discern relative pitch there are much better programs and courses out there. I think the interface is quite nice with this program and possibly I will continue to use it as a test in future. But it is just so hard. You have get almost all answers correct, in all octaves, in all keys and discern between 5ths, 4th and Octaves for the very first level. And all at lightning speed. I am working on several other courses and progressing through levels and feel myself to be improving on those. I have never managed to complete level 1 here after a month of trying. My advice. Try something a bit friendlier like Meludia or Theta Music, or Functional Ear Training. They have all worked better for me. (re comments, any training will probably work eventually if you stick at it but this program doesn´t seem to build in any actual training, merely testing so I doubt anyone learns very quickly with it. But very happy if others experience it differently)

Worth buying app

I have downloaded many apps related to relative pitch and I found this one the best of all of them!! It is the first app that I ever bought!! I really love the minimalist style and the appropriate depth of each step!! I just finished p4 and p5 it took me some time but now I can say that I really know their feelings!! The only thing that I would suggest to the creator is to add some more sounds to practice with ( I already bought the guitar) because it would increase my confidence at recognizing intervals

Good app with some issues

I think it would be better if you accept an enharmonic answer for natural notes Qs in drills 1.1.1 and 1.1.2. Your tutorials needs to be more complete instead of writing small tips. Good app thou...

Carefully sequenced, hilarious Chuck Norris achievement...just wish there were more sounds to choose from. I also wish you could customize the chord degree drill to just a few select chors (ie. So I could practice telling the difference between ii, IV, and vi, and iii, V, and vii). Other than that, I think this should be on the book list for any Aural Skills course!

Very Good

Exclusive.....It aims at bringing out the best in you....When u think that you've put in your best to gain a five'll find yourself gaining only one....

Great app fun to use

This is the best ear training app I found and it might become the reason why I won't regret moving to android. What makes this app better than others is the fact it is fun and challenging so I keep on going back to it to beat my high score. In a bit more than a week time I'm already feeling some improvements and it just felt like playing a game. I really recommend it.

Callum Arnell

According to this app, a perfect fifth up from A# is E#. No.

Great to have this on my tablet, very easy to use, nice soud, not so good, as on pc, but enough for training.
